"The only requirement for NA membership is the desire to stop using."

 Tradition Three

WHAT is our PRIMARY PURPOSE?

Our Fifth Tradition directs each NA Group to carry the message to the addict who still suffers, and the Fourth Tradition gives each group the ability to do this in any manner that they choose as long as they have no adverse effect on other groups or NA as a whole. We believe, “One addict can best understand and help another addict.”

WHAT is our MESSAGE?
The message is that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way of life.

 WHAT is a HOME GROUP?

The group an NA member decides to call “home.” The Candlelight Group stands for regular attendance of our weekly Meetings, voluntary service and support, and participation in the conscience-building and decision-making processes.

We have FREE Information Pamphlets (IP’s), and Meeting Lists of all the NA Meetings in the Recovery Coast Area.

We also have NA books for sale, our price your terms. If you can not afford a book, we will work out terms with you.

Group History:
The Candlelight Group was started on June 10th, 1992, by Sasha B. who is still part of Recovery Coast Area today. At that time our Group went by a different name, called the "Back Nine Group," which focused on Steps 4 - 12. The Group also met twice a week in those days as sister Meetings, and some years later the two sister Meetings decided to split and become separate autonomous Groups. The current 8:00pm Friday night Group, named "A Step In Time", which meets at

*St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Hudson, FL, is the other Group that split from the Candlelight Group those years ago.

The Candlelight Group is the longest standing Home Group in the Recovery Coast Area that meets in the same facility on the same night.

About NA:

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS IS A FELLOWSHIP OF RECOVERING ADDICTS WHO MEET REGULARLY TO HELP EACH OTHER STAY CLEAN. NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS IS COMPOSED OF MEN AND WOMEN OF ALL AGES FROM
ALL WALKS OF LIFE.

WE ARE AN ANONYMOUS FELLOWSHIP, SO THAT ADDICTS WHO SEEK RECOVERY HERE MAY BE CONFIDENT THAT THEIR ANONYMITY WILL BE PROTECTED.

ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STOP USING DRUGS MAY BECOME A MEMBER OF NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS APPROACH TO RECOVERY IS ITS BELIEF IN
THE THERAPEUTIC VALUE OF ONE ADDICT HELPING ANOTHER.

THE CORE OF THE NA PROGRAM IS THE TWELVES STEPS. THESE "STEPS" ARE A SET OF GUIDELINES OUTLINING A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO RECOVERY. BY FOLLOWING THESE GUIDELINES AND WORKING CLOSELY WITH OTHER MEMBERS, ADDICTS LEARN TO STOP USING DRUGS AND FACE THE CHALLENGES OF DAILY LIVING.

NA IS NOT A RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION, BUT WE DO TEACH BASIC SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLES, SUCH AS HONESTY, OPEN-MINDEDNESS, FAITH, WILLINGNESS AND HUMILITY THAT MAY BE APPLIED IN EVERYDAY LIFE.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS COST THE ADDICT NOTHING AND IS ENTIRELY SELF-SUPPORTING AND
DECLINES OUTSIDE CONTRIBUTIONS.

We Do Recover
"When at the end of the road we find that we can no longer function as a human being, either with or without drugs, we all face the same dilemma. What is there left to do? There seems to be this alternative: either go on as best we can to the bitter ends—jails, institutions or death—or find a new way to live. In years gone by, very few addicts ever had this last choice. Those who are addicted today are more fortunate. For the first time in man’s entire history, a simple way has been proving itself in the lives of many addicts. It is available to us all. This is a simple spiritual—not religious—program, known as Narcotics Anonymous
."
